RICHMOND, Va. — Virginia’s top Democratic leaders say Tuesday night’s election was not only a blue wave but a resounding rejection of White House policies, the MAGA movement, and Republicans unwilling to break from President Donald Trump.
"Last night, we delivered," Democratic House Speaker Don Scott said.
Powered by dominating victories in the governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general races and House Democrats flipping 13 seats to expand into their largest majority since 1987, Democrats in Richmond called it the clearest possible signal that voters want change.
"Virginia Republicans were too terrified to stand up to Trump," Scott said. "We told that story over and over and over again, and voters heard us."
