CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - A federal grand jury has handed down 10 charges in an indictment against a suspended Charleston attorney and former state House member.
Marvin Pendarvis faces four counts of wire fraud, three counts of aggravated identity theft, two counts of promotion and concealment money laundering and one count of engaging in monetary transactions in property derived from specified unlawful activity, according to court documents.
The South Carolina Supreme Court suspended Pendarvis’ license to practice law in May of 2024 after the filing of a lawsuit that alleged he witnessed the forgery of a client’s signature and agreed to a settlement without his client’s knowledge.
