WASHINGTON —

U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-IA, announced plans for a bailout to assist farmers dealing with the effects of tariffs and the government shutdown.

"There will be a bailout," Grassley said during a call with reporters on Wednesday, highlighting the need to support family farmers during these challenging times.

The senator informed reporters that the bailout would likely range between $10 billion and $13 billion. This announcement follows President Donald Trump's recent agreement with China to reduce tariffs and resume purchasing U.S. soybeans.

Grassley's office was unable to provide further details on the bailout plan.
