PITTSBURGH, Pa. (BLACK AND GOLD NATION) - The Pittsburgh Steelers are bringing cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. in for a workout next Wednesday, per NFL insider Ian Rapoport. With six teams reportedly hosting him for visits, the 26-year-old is a rare hot commodity on the free agent market in November.

Samuel, a 2021 second-round pick by the Los Angeles Chargers, was just recently cleared for football activities after a spinal surgery in April. He played four games last season for the Chargers before missing the rest of the year.

Pittsburgh should have more insight than other teams into Samuel's injury. Steelers neurosurgeon Dr. David Okonkwo performed the surgery.
