Those who own a dog know how difficult it is to shut the door on your pooch while they're giving you the heartbreaking puppy dog eyes. However, leaving your dog alone at one point or another is inevitable as we humans need to work, exercise, shop, and socialise outside of the house.
Dogs do not understand this concept of going out to work daily and often spend hours wondering where their beloved owner has gone and when they're going to be back. Adrienne Carson, the vice president of behaviour and training at St Hubert's Animal Welfare, explained to The Dog People that dogs deeply miss their owners when they're away because they associate them with happy feelings.
