CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland Department of Public Health has begun monitoring air quality in the southeast section of Cleveland using a new mobile unit that has been in development for almost three years.
The CLEANinCle mobile monitoring shelter is now set up at Cleveland Clinic’s South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville Heights, which is only one tenth of a mile from the border with Cleveland, said Bryan Sokolowski, chief of monitoring in the Cleveland Division of Air Quality.
The measurements will be uploaded to a community dashboard that gives residents real-time data about air quality. They will also be used to monitor pollution levels for the national airnow.gov network, which gives around-the-clock readings using the official U.S. Air Quality Index.
