Late in the first half of the New Orleans Saints ' loss to the Los Angeles Rams , rookie quarterback Tyler Shough officially received his welcome to the NFL moment in the form of Rams pass rusher Byron Young's helmet.
Young, who came into the game ranked near the top of the NFL with nine sacks, beat right tackle Taliese Fuaga on the play and had a clean shot on Shough. He crushed the Saints' rookie quarterback for the sack — but the play was ultimately called back for unnecessary roughness after Young caught Shough in the chin with the crown of his helmet.
Gifted a new set of downs, the Saints went on to score their lone touchdown of the game later in the drive — which is maybe why Shough was able to laugh the moment off Wednesday in his press conference.
