CLINTON, Tenn. — The government shutdown has now reached a record-long day 36, and many nonprofits in East Tennessee that receive federal funding are feeling the strain.

"We don't have a lot to give, we're having to resource and partner with other agencies to try to do that, but they're in the exact same situation that we are," said Tammy Crowe, Executive Director of the Anderson County Community Action Commission.

The CAC has been working to serve the municipalities of Anderson County for decades.

"We've been with Anderson County for 60 years, for 60 years we've existed. So, you know, everyone knows our name, everyone knows our location, everyone knows what we do," Crowe said.
