AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — West Plains High School sophomore running back Slade Russell has earned Player of the Week after leading the Wolves to a dominant 56-37 victory over a district opponent, Dumas. Sophomore standout Russell earned this week’s Player of the Week honors after a big performance in Thursday night’s game, which, after speaking to his coach, reflected the dedication and leadership he brings both on and off the field.
The underclassman Russell made his mark in the run game, rushing for 353 yards on 21 carries and providing three touchdowns.
