TEMPE, Ariz. — Three suspects charged with the assault of a teen near Arizona State University's campus in Tempe appeared in court this morning.

The suspects, Jayden Smith, Donnell Young, and Justin Otis, are all facing three charges of aggravated assault for the brutal beating that happened on Sept. 28.

The incident was caught on camera, and the footage shows the group violently punching and kicking the victim, who was on the ground.

The victim’s family tells us he is now doing okay, but he was hospitalized with a broken nose and head injuries.

The three suspects have pleaded not guilty.

The ASU police department said its investigation remains ongoing.
