A 65-year-old man pleaded guilty on Wednesday to two counts of manslaughter for two killings roughly a decade apart in the 1980s and 1990s, Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden’s office announced.

Michael Lewis, of South Boston, was sentenced to 15 years for each of the killings, which happened in 1984 and 1993, with the sentences running concurrently, Hayden’s office said in a statement.

In July of 1984, Lewis and another man, who were both involved in the drug trade in South Boston, drove around the neighborhood in search of another drug dealer whom they were attempting to stop from operating there, according to the statement.

While looking for the dealer, Lewis and the man encountered Brian Watson. Watson agreed to help the men find the dealer and entered their vehicle.
