St. Louis City SC roared to success in its first season before dropping to the bottom of the Western Conference. The team’s new soccer chief says he has a plan to give supporters more to cheer about in seasons to come.
Corey Wray, a Canadian native who won the league’s executive of the year award in 2022 and has held high-level roles with teams that won three MLS titles, gave his first Energizer Park press conference Wednesday. His remarks came just days after the club announced his hiring as the team’s second-ever sporting director.
Wray replaces Lutz Pfannenstiel, who club leaders fired in August. During Pfannenstiel’s tenure, City SC surprised the league by winning the Western Conference in its inaugural year. But the club was bounced from the playoffs in the first round by rival
