HOUSTON — It's been four years since the 2021 Astroworld festival tragedy, where 10 people were killed and hundreds were injured in a crowd surge during Houston rapper Travis Scott's concert.
In July 2023, the Houston Police Department released a series of reports after a 20-month investigation. The bottom line is that the tragedy was entirely preventable.
Although no one was criminally charged, dozens of civil lawsuits were filed, including by the families of the 10 people who were killed. Those wrongful death lawsuits were all eventually settled out of court.
One of those victims was 23-year-old Madison Dubiski , of Cypress. She attended the concert with her brother and friends.
