Auburn’s 2027 and 2028 schedules just gained a big-time opponent.
The school announced on Wednesday that Auburn and Notre Dame have agreed to a home-and-home series for the 2027 and 2028 seasons. The first matchup will be in South Bend on Sept. 25, 2027, with the 2028 edition coming to Auburn on Oct. 28.
It will be the first time the two schools will have played in football. The series also fills a void in Auburn’s future non-conference schedules after a series between the Tigers and UCLA for 2027 and 2028 was canceled last year.
With Notre Dame now on the schedule, Auburn’s 2027 non-conference slate is set, with the Tigers also set to face Middle Tennessee State and Missouri State that season. Auburn also now has its one SEC-mandated Power Four non-conference opponent set for each the
