ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The Salvation Army is seeking volunteers for its annual Red Kettle Campaign, which runs from early November to Christmas.
A captain in the Belvidere Corp Pablo Rivera, has been a bell-ringer for 20 years. He says the experience and the importance of the funds raised, is something that comes once you volunteer.
"It's satisfying because you know that the funds you're collecting, they're actually going to stay here in our county," said Rivera. "It's going to help put food on someone's table. It's going to help put Christmas gifts for those children who don't have Christmas gifts on a Christmas morning."
