PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The most significant legal test yet for President Donald Trump’s economic agenda is now before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes was in Washington, D.C. for oral arguments on Wednesday to challenge the legality of new sweeping tariffs.
“This case is so important, maybe the most important case that this court has heard in 100 years,” Mayes said.
The justices are being asked to decide if the president has the authority to increase those tariffs without congressional approval. Democrats and even some conservative groups don’t think so.
