U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth will be in Fort Wayne next week to headline a summit hosted by Sen. Jim Banks.

Banks announced Wednesday that Hegseth will speak Wednesday at the fourth annual Northeast Indiana Defense Summit. More details, including the time Hegseth will speak and how many people have registered for the summit, was not available. Banks’ office said more details will be released when they are available.

“Secretary Hegseth recognizes the vital role Hoosiers play in strengthening America’s national security and military readiness,” Banks said in a statement. “His leadership and commitment to our armed forces will help ensure Indiana remains a cornerstone of our nation’s defense industry.”
