PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — With the government shutdown delaying SNAP benefits, community members are stepping up to help take care of their neighbors.

In some cases, food pantries are popping up in front of homes, including along Whisper Woods Court in Pasco County.

On Wednesday, people were coming and going all day to drop off donations and receive food.

For people like Jasmin, having this food pantry means putting food on the table for her child.

"I'm on food stamps too, and I use those food stamps to feed my child," she said. "He's four, so he's eating a lot now, and so, I use that money to feed my kid. For myself, I can live off Ramen for all I care."
