DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) -- Firefighters responded to a rapidly moving field fire in Douglas County on Wednesday.
The Camargo Countryside Fire Protection District was called out a fire near Murdock around 3:15 p.m. The fire protection district said they contacted Newman and Villa Grove to provide mutual aid because of the size and the "rapid movement" of the fire.
About 15 firefighters responded to the corn field -- located near 2050E and US36 -- to put out the fire. The fire protection district added that there was no damage because the corn field had already been harvested.
Earlier in the day, the Camargo Countryside Fire Protection District reminded people not to burn anything because of the dry conditions and the speed of the wind.
