Wednesday afternoon, Dallas Bay Fire & Rescue crews responded to a vehicle fire in the TVA transmission line right-of-way near Igou Ferry Road.

When firefighters arrived, they found an SUV and camper fully engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading quickly through the surrounding grass. Crews worked quickly to extinguish the blaze and contain the grass fire, preventing it from spreading further, Dallas Bay Fire officials say. Close

SUV and camper destroyed in fire near Igou Ferry Road

Power in the area was temporarily shut off for safety while crews battled the fire. Both the vehicle and camper were destroyed, but no injuries were reported.

Due to limited water access in the area, mutual aid was requested.
