RENTON, Wash. -- When the Seattle Seahawks acquired wide receiver Rashid Shaheed in a trade with the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday, they gave up a pair of mid-round round picks for a player who's in the final year of his deal.
But they didn't do so with the thought that he was going to merely be a half-season rental.
Shaheed isn't thinking that either.
"I'm here to stay," he said Wednesday during his introductory press conference at Seahawks headquarters, repeating the line when asked about his expiring contract and the possibility of becoming a free agent in March. "I'm excited, and we can figure something out after the season ends."
