A woman has allegedly been choked and sexually assaulted in a terrifying attack by a masked man wearing latex gloves and armed with a knife, who also demanded she hand over cash before fleeing the scene.

George Moses Ochieng Raduma, 21, is behind bars over the alleged attack on the woman, a sex worker, at Ryde in Sydney’s north at the weekend.

He allegedly threatened her with a knife at the Blaxland Road address about 10.25pm on Saturday, physically and sexually assaulting her, before fleeing with the cash.

Raduma was arrested at Castle Hill on Wednesday and charged with aggravated sexual assault inflicting actual bodily harm, attempted aggravated sexual assault, intentionally choking and armed robbery.

He was refused bail at Parramatta Local Court on Thursday and is due to face court
