Open burning has been discouraged by the Buncombe County Fire Marshal as weather conditions are creating a higher risk.

A weather alert posted by the fire marshal's Facebook page stated that gusty winds and low humidity levels were responsible for the increased risk. The most dangerous conditions will fall between 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
