BLOOMINGTON — Indiana basketball ushered in the Darian DeVries -era in style on Wednesday night.

The Hoosiers (1-0) were up big in the second half of a 98-51 win over Alabama A&M when Tayton Conerway passed it off the glass to Reed Bailey for an alley-oop dunk.

It was as exciting of a moment for fans at Assembly Hall in a long while and the relief in the building from seeing an up-tempo, high-volume 3-point shooing team was palpable.

While IU's focus waned a bit in the second half, it still dominated on both ends of the floor. Reed Bailey, who led all scorers with 21 points, was one of five Hoosiers in double-digits. Tucker DeVries had a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

After Alabama A&M scored the game’s opening basket, Indiana went on a 23-2 run to take control.
