BROOKLYN, NY (PIX11) -- Crews were outside Magen David Yeshiva in Gravesend Wednesday evening, removing swastikas that police say were found painted on a pillar and a window of the school around 6:30 am.
According to the NYPD, security discovered those two swastikas in red paint at the Yeshiva near McDonald Avenue and Avenue S. Jewish residents in the area reacted to what police are investigating as a hate crime.
“It doesn’t make me feel safe," said Solomon Mizrahi, who lives nearby. "It feels like we’re all being targeted for no reason. We haven’t done anything wrong.”
“They’re trying to send a message that they hate us and they don’t want us here, but it’s not going to happen," said another resident who declined to give his name.
