Teen Shot Near Basketball Court In Albany

A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized after being shot near a basketball court in Albany.

Officers responded to the area of Hummel Terrace and Second Avenue around 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, after receiving reports of gunfire, Albany Police said.

When cops arrived, they found the teen suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower leg. Emergency medical personnel and Albany Fire Department crews treated him at the scene before he was taken to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators believe the shooting happened near the basketball courts in the area.
