SALT LAKE CITY – It’s not every day that a goalie tries to make light of being scored against, but that’s precisely what St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington did after becoming Alex Ovechkin ‘s latest victim.

After allowing Ovechkin to become the first 900-goal scorer in NHL history, Binnington collected the puck and tried hiding it in his padding. He would have gotten away with it, too, if not for those meddling refs.

Seconds later, one of the officials skated over and asked Binnington to return the historic puck.

Ovechkin is only the third player in league history to reach the 800-goal plateau. He passed Wayne Gretzky (894) for the all-time goals lead late last season.
