AUBURN HILLS — Rochester pushed seventh-ranked Utica Eisenhower to the brink in the middle set, but the Eagles still managed a 25-10, 25-22, 25-9 sweep of the Falcons in Wednesday’s D1 district semifinal.

The Falcons led by three points on a number of occasions midway into the second set and went up by as many as five (17-12), but at that point Eisenhower went on an 8-1 run, retaking the lead on a hit off the back line by Rease Buza. Rochester went ahead again at 22-21 before Ike fired off the set’s final four points, including an ace by senior Liliana Gegovic to win it.
