MOORHEAD — It was a long night for the Moorhead Area Public Schools, but it ended with a sigh of relief.

Voters approved two school funding questions on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

This means major relief for the school district, especially after coming off a tough budget year in which it had to cut $4 million in spending.

Relief and gratitude: Those are the words that came to mind for Moorhead’s superintendent after voters approved two levies to help stabilize the district’s budget.

Together, those levies will bring in nearly $6 million a year for the next decade.

"Asking the community to do something like we did last night is a big lift," said Brandon Lunak, Moorhead superintendent.

The referendum, separated into two questions, saw strong support.
