US President Donald Trump has issued a warning to New York City’s Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, calling his victory speech “angry” and suggesting that the incoming mayor is off to a poor start in his relationship with Washington.

In an interview with Fox News , Trump said he was open to talking with Mamdani but urged the progressive Democrat to adopt a more cooperative tone.

"Yeah, I thought it was a very angry speech, certainly angry toward me, and I think he should be very nice to me. You know, I'm the one that sort of has to approve a lot of things coming to him. So he's off to a bad start," Trump said.
