COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - Texas A&M women’s basketball took down A&M Corpus Christi 81-43 in the Aggies’ season opener on Wednesday. Here is the game rundown:
Why did A&M win? The Aggies’ defense stayed dominant throughout A&M’s win over the Islanders. The Aggies finished the night with 21 steals and forced 29 turnovers. Offensively, A&M outscored Corpus Christi 34-6 in a 12-minute span through the second and third quarters.
Who stood out? Sacred Heart transfer, Ny’Ceara Pryor led the Aggies with 16 points, eight assists, and eight steals. The senior is the first A&M player to record more than seven steals in a single game since 2016.
What’s next? Next up, A&M hosts Tarleton State on Nov. 13th at 11:00 a.m. for their annual Elementary School Day game.
