Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying additional victims of a man who reportedly used stolen personal identification information to fraudulently rent apartments in Los Angeles.

In a news release posted to X, investigators with LAPD’s Commercial Crimes Division say the man, known only as Igor, applied to rent two apartments, one in Hollywood and another in the Larchmont area.

“The suspect used other individuals’ personal identification information to complete rental applications and provided counterfeit cashier’s checks to property management companies as part of the process,” police said.

The man is described as a Black adult male with dreadlocks and a beard or goatee.
