Winning is fun, and the La Center volleyball team is serious about winning.
Undefeated entering the season’s home stretch, the Wildcats are having fun while getting down to the business of chasing titles.
La Center (19-0) clinched a Class 1A state tournament berth by beating Seton Catholic 3-0 in the semifinals of the District 4 tournament on Tuesday.
In non-tournament play, the Wildcats have dropped just five sets all season and just one since Sept. 18.
What has been the key to La Center’s success?
“We know when to have fun and to be serious,” senior setter Bailey Espana said. “I feel like our team especially can have fun and be serious at the same time.”
Yet, there’s no splitting hairs when it comes to the Wildcats’ top priority.
“We play to win,” Espana said.
