Bengaluru, Nov 6: Kannada film industry has lost one of its most talented and intense character artistes, Harish Rai, who passed away on Wednesday after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was 52.

Harish Rai, known for his powerful performances in films such as Om, Nalla, Bhugatha, Jodi Hakki, and more recently, the blockbuster hits KGF and KGF: Chapter 2, had been undergoing treatment for thyroid cancer for the past few years.

According to industry sources, the actor’s health had deteriorated in recent months, with his body weakening due to complications from the illness.
