Beauty pageants may project an image of grace and poise, but behind the glittering stage, tempers can flare. That’s exactly what happened ahead of the Miss Universe 2025 competition in Bangkok, when an unexpected clash between Miss Grand International (MGI) president Nawat Itsaragrisil and Miss Mexico, Fátima Bosch, turned into a global controversy.

The drama unfolded on November 4 during a live-streamed sashing ceremony, where Nawat was seen confronting Bosch for skipping a sponsorship shoot to film with Telemundo.

In the video, he can be heard shouting after several contestants stood up in protest, “Stop. Stop! Sit down. If anyone wants to continue the contest, sit down.”

Moments later, Bosch walked out, followed by a handful of delegates who left in solidarity.
