Agnes Braunegg spent every summer and autumn evening on her front porch in Charleroi, handing out popsicles to neighborhood kids or playing Tripoley with her friends.

That daily routine embodied Mrs. Braunegg’s role and impact in her community, said her daughter, Barbara Vattimo.

Mrs. Braunegg died on Oct. 23 at age 93. A mother of six, local politician and active member of her church, she had a “big heart,” Mrs. Vattimo remembers.

Even in her final years living at senior residence The Haven in Ross, Mrs. Braunegg would be asked by staff members to talk to new residents who were having a difficult time adjusting.

“She was very outgoing and friendly,” Mrs. Vattimo, of Pleasant Hills, said. “She made the new residents laugh.”
