At 5:05 a.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service released an updated frost advisory valid for Friday between midnight and 7 a.m. for Southern Westchester, Northwest Suffolk, Northeast Suffolk, Southwest Suffolk and Southeast Suffolk.
The weather service adds to anticipate, "Temperatures as low as 33 degrees will result in frost formation."
"Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered," explains the weather service. "Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold."
