Lower Dauphin (17-4-1) vs. Central Bucks West (18-4-1) at Coatesville High School, Saturday, 4 p.m.: This is a evenly matched quarterfinal tussle between two teams that did not win their respective District 3 and District 1 titles, but are loaded with talent and merit tons of respect as the PIAA 3A field hockey tournament gets down to brass tacks.
THE FALCONS: The Lower Dauphin field hockey program owns 17 District championships and has seven state titles to its credit. This edition of the Falcons boasts four freshman starters but is absolutely led by the goal scoring and playmaking prowess of juniors Chase Strohm and Lily Rost. If they are on point – any opponent faces an uphill battle. Grace Lindsay and Rylie Michael anchor the defensive corps. Senior Laurel Unger guards the cage.
