Broadcaster and cancer fundraiser Carrie Bickmore OAM has been named the 2026 Australian of the Year for Victoria .
Bickmore received the honour at a ceremony in Melbourne on November 6.
Since 2015, she has raised more than $27 million for brain cancer research.
The radio and television presenter established The Brain Cancer Centre in 2021 to bring together the brightest minds in research to find a cure.
The centre supports research projects across the country and is delivering groundbreaking clinical trials for brain cancer patients - the first of their kind in the world.
Brain cancer kills more Australian children than any other disease, and more people aged under 40 than any other cancer - including Bickmore's late husband, Greg, who passed away in 2010.
