Chief Electoral Officer C Sudarshan Reddy said minor errors in voter ID cards would not affect voter identity verification. He clarified that EPICs from other constituencies are valid and urged voters to carry approved photo IDs while voting on November 11

Hyderabad: Chief Electoral Officer C Sudarshan Reddy said minor errors or spelling discrepancies in the Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC) would be overlooked if the voter’s identity was clearly established.

The EPICs issued from other Assembly constituencies would also be accepted if the voter’s name appears in the electoral roll of the polling station concerned. Overseas electors registered under Section 20A of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, must produce their original Indian passport only for identification, he said.
