Residents gathered Wednesday morning at Mostly Muffins on West 16th Street for “Coffee with a Cop,” a community event aimed at fostering open dialogue between law enforcement and the people they serve.

The Yuma Police Department hosted the event from 7 to 10 a.m., inviting community members to share coffee and conversation in a relaxed setting. According to YPD, the program is designed to help residents discuss local issues, ask questions and get to know the officers who patrol their neighborhoods.

Yuma City Council Member Art Morales has long supported efforts to build trust between law enforcement and residents.
