Mulanje Central legislator Kondwani Nankhumwa has called on the newly appointed cabinet ministers to “hit the ground running” and address pressing issues affecting Malawians.
Speaking in response to President Peter Mutharika’s address to parliament last Friday, Nankhumwa highlighted key challenges, including food shortages, erratic fuel supply, and intermittent water and electricity services, saying these continue to affect ordinary citizens.
“People cannot be talking of a return to proven leadership while Malawians are silently suffering without proper direction from the cabinet,” Nankhumwa said.
He further urged the Minister of Agriculture to reconsider the government’s plan to distribute relief food to only 11 selected districts, advocating instead for a nationwide approach to ensure
