Gujarat Giants have decided to retain two Australian players – Ashleigh Gardner and Beth Mooney – from their 2025 squad ahead of the WPL 2026 mega auctions. Gardner is one of the best cricketers of all time. In the recently concluded ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, she scored a couple of centuries for the Southern Stars and also impressed with her bowling performances.

Mooney, on the other hand, is a top-order batter for Australia in T20Is. In the WPL, she has scored 522 runs in 18 matches for the Ahmedabad-based franchise.

There were high chances of GG retaining South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt, who is the world No. 1 ODI batter and also finished as the highest run getter in Women’s World Cup 2025 but they decided not to pursue her.
