GLOCESTER – Julia Dowling keeps doing her thing.
For the second year in a row, the North Smithfield High junior capped off a terrific season with an All-State showing at the state cross country meet on Ponaganset High’s 3.1-mile course. Dowling finished 16th in the girls’ championship race last Saturday afternoon, earning Third-Team All-State honors.
“I took it as a consistent race,” Dowling said. “I placed right around the same spot as last year, just a little better. My time was a little bit slower, but overall, I think my season has been pretty consistent, and that’s always what you look for in cross country.”
