In a significant step towards modernising agriculture in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Department of Agriculture has announced a 50% subsidy—up to a maximum of ₹30,000 per beneficiary—on the purchase of Carbon Fibre Telescopic Harvesters under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY) for the year 2025–26.
The initiative aims to equip island farmers with modern and efficient harvesting tools that enhance productivity while ensuring safety.
