ESPN Bet -- the partnership with Penn Entertainment that launched in 2023 -- is no more. But there's more betting news than that at the Worldwide Leader, which comes at a very rocky time in the sports gambling universe.

The company's partnership with Penn's sportsbook was originally for 10 years, but there was a mutual agreement to break that partnership.

“When we first announced our partnership with ESPN, both sides made it clear that we expected to compete for a podium position in the space,” Penn CEO Jay Snowden said in a release, per CNBC. "Although we made significant progress in improving our product offering and building a cohesive ecosystem with ESPN, we have mutually and amicably agreed to wind down our collaboration"

There were some questions about whether this broken partnership may have coincided with the NBA betting scandal that's made headlines recently, but seemingly minutes after that news broke, Disney announced a new deal with DraftKings to be the official odds provider for ESPN.

There you have it. To sum it up: There's no more ESPN sportsbook through the new DraftKings deal, but the partnership with company will provide, as a release said, "the betting tab within the ESPN app and their customers will receive special promotions for ESPN Unlimited, ESPN’s newly launched direct-to-consumer product."
