STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Authorities responded Thursday morning to wires down outside PS 44 and a report of a smoking electrical panel in Mariners Harbor.
FDNY responded to the scene of the incident called at 7:25 a.m. at 80 Maple Parkway, according to a spokesperson for the FDNY and EMS.
FDNY members notified Con Edison and left in about a half-hour, at 8:07 a.m., the FDNY spokesperson said.
Caution tape was spread around the area where the wires were down and Con Edison trucks were on scene.
According to unconfirmed emergency radio communications, a truck hit one of the utility poles in the area.
No injuries were reported and no damage was visible on vehicles in the area.
