SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Incumbent Rep. Ami Bera announced Tuesday that he will be running for District 3 , leaving the District 6 seat open, with former state senator Dr. Richard Pan and Republican candidate Christine Bish entering the race.
"It's a district that I've been running in, in the last election. We've done nothing but pick up momentum. And under the current scenario, it's a free-for-all here," Bish said.
Bish ran for Congressional District 6 in years past, with a most recent campaign against Bera in 2024.
"With the passage of Prop 50, I'm excited for the opportunity to actually run in the district, where I'm able to where I actually represented before in the state legislature," Pan said.
Pan initially said he planned to challenge Rep. Kevin Kiley for House District 3, but
