MUMBAI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently hosted the members of the Indian women’s cricket team after their historic World Cup triumph. Modi said that for Indians, cricket is not just a game- it is closely connected to people’s lives.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur said she still remembers visiting the Prime Minister after the 2017 Women’s World Cup final against England. She said they did not have the trophy then, but after years of hard work, meeting the Prime Minister with the trophy this time felt very special. She added that the team hopes to continue this success in the coming years and take more photos with the Prime Minister.
