The PGA Tour is back this week with its annual stop south of the border. The 2025 World Wide Technology Championship is the fifth of seven events on the FedEx Cup Fall series slate.
El Cardonal at Diamante in Cabo San Lucas, the first golf course design by Tiger Woods, is the host for a third year.
Follow along all day Thursday with live leaderboard updates from the 2025 World Wide Technology Championship.

Check out the leaderboard from Cabo all day Thursday. You can also find tee times on that page.
Nick Dunlap and Sami Valimaki have each posted 61. They are the 14th and 15th 61s posted on the PGA Tour in 2025. There are only four players who posted better scores this year.
Fun fact about Nick Dunlap's Thursday 61 at the WWT
Huge group tied for third at 8 under after 18 holes
Dunlap and Valimaki might be safe holding the 18-hole lead in Cabo but there's a slew of guys not far behind. In fact, there are five guys — Vince Whaley, Kris Ventura, Matti Schmid, Chad Ramey and Andrew Putnam — all shot 64 and are all at 8 under. There's another five guys tied for eighth at 7 under, four shots back. At 3:28 p.m. local time, 99 of the 120 golfers in the field are at even par or better.
Sami Valimaki matches Nick Dunlap's 61 at WWT
Valimaki started on the back nine and had five birdies, including three in a row to make the turn. On his second nine, he carded six more birdies, including two straight on Nos. 8 and 9 to post an 11-under 61 to tie Dunlap for the lead.
And like Dunlap, Valimaki made a big leap up in the FedEx Cup Fall points. Valimaki was 103rd just 24 hours ago. Now he's 53rd with 54 holes still to go.
Valimaki was honest when asked about his season.
"I've been just terrible off the tee and then haven't made any putts. When you do that, it's impossible to compete against the best players," he said.
Nick Dunlap shoots 61 to tie course record at World Wide Technology Championship
Dunlap made back-to-back birdies on Nos. 16 and 17 and faced the downhill par-5 18th to close out his round. Sitting at 9 under through 17, he was already in the lead by a shot and was looking to extend his lead to two. Or should we say three?
Dunlap's third, a chip from off the green, went in for eagle and an 11-under 61. He hit 14 of 14 fairways and that's the way you start a touranment and that's how you tie the course record at El Cardonal at Diamante.
"Just kind of one of those days. Golf's been very hard recently and today was the opposite of that," he said. "I think I hit every fairway. The fairways are pretty forgiving out here for the most part. Gave myself a ton of good iron and wedge opportunities and rolled it really, really nice."
A two-time PGA Tour winner, Dunlap had slipped to No. 145 in the FedEx Cup Fall standings but his 61 has vaulted him 74 spots to No. 71.
Vince Whaley, Kris Ventura shoots 64s, tie for lead
Whaley fired 8-under 64 on Thursday and closed with consecutive birdies on the 17th and 18th holes to take the clubhoues lead. Whaley started the week 89th in the points and has improved 37 spots to 52nd. Moments later, Kris Ventura posted a matching 64 to forge an 18-hole clubhouse lead. Ventura is up from 119 to 58.
What's key about those moves up is that top 100 earn 2026 PGA Tour cards and top 60 gets guys into the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Genesis Invitational. Both are signature events.
For Ventura, playing in Cabo is kind of a homecoming.
"I'm 50 percent Mexican so half my life has been over here almost. I went to college in the U.S. Yeah, this is where I started my career, I started very young when I was 3 representing Mexico all the way up until I was 12, and then we moved to Norway," he said after his round. "So huge part, this is where I started. Yeah, just very happy to be back. It's always enjoyable when we play Mexico."
Kris Ventura has birdied half his holes so far
Ventura is 7 under through 14 on Day 1 in Cabo. He started on No. 10 and opened with a birdie there before birdies at Nos. 15, 17 and 18. He had a third straight at No. 1 and made two more at Nos. 3 and 5. Solid start for a guy who started the week at No. 119 in the FedEx Fall standings. He has not only (for now) shot inside the top 100 but he's up to No. 57. But as we like to remind everyone, there's a lot of golf left.
Nick Dunlap holds early lead at WWT
Dunlap, who started the week 145th in the FedEx Cup Fall points standings, is up 72 spots to No. 73 after a 5-under-through-eight-holes start on Thursday. Granted, there's a looooooooot of golf left but still, good to see the two-time PGA Tour winner off to a hot start.
Ben Griffin doesn't miss a chance to hear from Nvidia CEO
Ben Griffin didn’t just come to the PGA Tour’s World Wide Technology Championship last year to make birdies by the bundles. He also came with a curious mind and a secondary purpose: to learn more about “this tech revolution we’re living in,” he said.
As part of activating its title sponsorship, World Wide Technology, a privately held global technology solution provider that bridges the gap between business and technology, rolls out all the stops for the customer experience at Diamante – there’s a concert featuring Train and O.A.R. this evening. But for some attendees the draw is less Griffin and more the panel of C-Suite executives who participate. The company, which recently renewed its title sponsorship, which runs for seven years, always hosts a Business Innovation Summit that draws captains of industry.
Last year’s keynote speaker was none other than Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Griffin, who is a WWT ambassador for the past three years, was one of the few pros who requested to attend.
J.J. Spaun, Ben Griffin headline WWT Championship field
A couple of members of the U.S. Ryder Cup team are heading South of the Border to headline the field of the 2025 World Wide Technology Championship at Diamante's El Cardonal Course in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Reigning U.S. Open champion J.J. Spaun and two-time PGA Tour winner this season Ben Griffin also are the top-ranked players in one of the weaker fields of the FedEx Cup Fall. The field will be 120 golfers.
See the Tiger Woods, Davis Love III golf courses at Diamante
The area at Diamante is vast and host to four offerings to scratch your golf itch. One of those is a 15-hole putting course that changes its routing daily. Another is the 12-hole Oasis short course. The main draws, however, are the Dunes course designed by Davis Love III and ranked fifth on Golfweek's Best: Top 50 courses in Mexico, Caribbean, Atlantic islands and Central America, and El Cardonal, the first golf course designed by Tiger Woods, which ranks 31st on that list. Check out these photos of the two golf courses.
